About this property

Welcome to Okanagan Lakefront Resort

Okanagan Lakefront Resort is a low-key hotel and motel-style property located on the waterfront at 970 Lakeshore Drive West in Penticton, British Columbia. The setting offers direct lake views, with a deck and outdoor BBQ areas including pizza ovens that have been well received by guests. The recently renovated rooms and suites provide a clean and comfortable stay, combining a modest style with practical amenities such as free Wi-Fi, free parking, and air conditioning. The property is both pet- and kid-friendly, though it does not offer breakfast, a pool, or fitness facilities.

The resort’s location is convenient for visitors who want to explore local attractions; it lies just a three-minute walk from LocoLanding Adventure Park and within easy reach of the South Okanagan Events Centre. Nearby, guests can enjoy popular points of interest like Poplar Grove Winery, Bench 1775 Winery, and Skaha Lake, all recommended for their quality and ambiance. Several other hotels and motels are clustered close by, providing options for those wanting to compare accommodations in the area.

Guests frequently note the friendly and accommodating staff, highlighting the smooth, contactless check-in process and attentive management team. The addition of outdoor social spaces, including multiple BBQs and seating arrangements, has been appreciated, creating a relaxed atmosphere suitable for families and groups. However, some reviews mention smaller room sizes and occasional noise from air conditioners, suggesting that while the rooms are modern and well maintained, there may be some trade-offs in comfort and space.

Overall, Okanagan Lakefront Resort scores well with visitors looking for an affordable, nicely updated place with lake access and a laid-back vibe. It works well for travelers who prioritize location and casual outdoor amenities over luxury hotel services, and it is especially suited to those planning to enjoy the natural and recreational offerings of Penticton’s lakeside setting.

Cute little nostalgic 1960's hotel located across the street from Okanagan Lake. Fully remodeled. Cute as a bug. Very comfortable place crash. Tiny room. Complicated television setup. No coffee maker, only a French press, which I don't know how to use. They use a totally remote check in process, which I loved. Walking distance to Saltys.

Really enjoyed staying here, the had a great common area with 3 brand new natural gas bbqs, complete with pizza ovens. The resort sent us our door codes so there was no need to check in with anybody. The location was great, on the waterfront steps from the beach and restaurants. We'll stay here again for sure.

My family has been coming to Okanagan Lakefront Resort for nearly 20 years. Over time, we’ve seen the property go through different management and renovations, and the current team is by far the best we’ve experienced. The team, including Zues from management, Mo from maintenance, housekeeping, and reception, are all kind, attentive, accommodating, and a pleasure to be around. The latest renovations are beautiful and have completely modernized the rooms. They’ve added several new BBQs with pizza ovens, large dining tables and seating for groups, new patio seating with fire pits and lounge chairs, and fully renovated the stairs and deck. The location is convenient, and the rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. Guests are offered free ice, coffee in the mornings, and a very convenient check-in and check-out system. We absolutely love coming here and hope the current management and team are here to stay!

Our family has been coming to Okanagan Lakefront Resort for over a decade, and we’ve seen it go through quite a few changes in ownership and management. That said, this year has easily been the best experience we’ve had, and a big part of that is thanks to Zeus and Mo. Zeus went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of from the moment we arrived, and Mo from maintenance was just as incredible, always friendly, helpful, and quick to respond. The resort itself was spotless, the service was top notch, and most importantly, Zeus and Mo made us feel truly at home. The resort has been newly renovated and looks amazing, from the patio and BBQ area to the rooms themselves. Everything was fresh, clean, and well thought out. 10/10!

We were booking for 3 nights in Penticton this week and I chose the wrong hotel when I clicked on it. Needless to say I was truly frustrated online tring to book a hotel. So we decided it was to late to change it so we might as well just show up and see how it was. Now let me tell you, we were shocked at how nice and well kept this place was. The rooms were in top shape. Clean, new and well kept. The Management Staff at book in were delightful and were very appreciative that we didn't cancel. They said any thing we need or changed they would try to accommodate us. It was a great place to stay, I'm a 4 to 5 star Hotel Traveler and This was a Motel with Hotel feel. I will definitely be booking back here. 100ft. From the beach and great restaurants next door. Moved need to drive anywhere. Thanks again to the 2 Check in Staff (managers i believe) You made it worth the stay. Cheers and see next time

Best 2 star motel we ever stayed. The new owner redecorated the entire suite like a boutique hotel! Comfortable beds (even the sofa bed is very comfortable). The washroom is clean with decent amenities. Prime location. The only reason it scored only 9 out of 10 is because the price - we paid $292 a night in late June. That's quite steep for a 2 star motel.

We have been going to this hotel for many years, this year it was so nicely renovated the rooms are spotless and well appointed. Not sure about booking policy of them taking half the money up front, and the cancellation policy has much to desired. Beware!! No complaints about room other than the air conditioner was so noisy we had to sleep with ear plugs. This needs to be addressed by management. No cleaning of rooms unless stays of more than 7 days seems a bit low for service considering what a person pays these days. Maybe after 3 days should be more like it. Coffee machine was a coffee press, which is messy and we did not care for it. Electric coffee makers would be a better choice for most people. We would most likely return but if the a/c is not fixed will likely get a suite where the a/c is in another room. Will not book so far in advance, especially in September which is quiet, will book just before arriving, many rooms were not occupied.
